If we really, totally, absolutely have to have a title series ... how about we simplify what we've already got (& most are accustomed to) ?? Something like :

Minnow - 1-100 posts
Keeper - 101-200 posts
Trophy - 201 - 500 posts
Master Angler - 501-2000 posts
Elite Angler - 2001 - 5000 posts
Legend - over 5000 posts

(most people quit caring about their "title", after the first 100 or so posts .... anyway)

I don't see how post count qualifies one as a good angler. Maybe "Master Poster" or "Elite Poster".

Quite right, Major !! Which is one reason I see no real need for a "title" at all. (MOTY & Mods excluded, of course)

It does a couple of things like let you know who participates daily and such. One thing I look at is all along someone post that has a low post count but has been a member a fairly good while, they dont say much unless they have something to add that is beneficial. Then on the other hand they post alot with nothing beneficial, I like having the post count but care less about what mine is.

Right you are, RG .... but, in my case (as well as several others) that date is incorrect. I was the only Moderator of the whole site, almost four years prior to 2004 (I joined in 2000). This format is like the 3rd or 4th MAJOR format change, even since I've been here ... and the post count & posts, from those previous site formats, are gone.
