    The .47-70 is a good caliber for settling FJ disputes.

    Found the CVA Optima Elite, stainless but not fluted, with synthetic stock for $249.00. That's going to be hard to beat.

    Better get it, doubt you will beat that. The extra weight of not being fluted is gonna be a plus anyways, 45-70 dont need to be lightened up any.

    If we find some land to hunt around our place at Enid, I think I'm going with the .35 Whelen.

    A buddy of mine who is WAY into guns and ammo is recommending the .35 Whelen too. Looking at the TC Pro Hunter now.

    I love my 35 Whelen Prohunter!! Hardly no recoil ! 300 yards and he going down! I got mine new for 625.00 new 3 years ago.
