I think what he meant was they questioned him about it, asked for his license, went and sat in their truck, then returned with a warning ticket and told him not to do it again, and gave him his license back.

Just one, If that rule, which was a pretty big one was broken, why couldnt yall allow two extra minutes for those three to get to the (secondary) weighin location

I want to speak up here and take the heat off of Major. If you want to whoop up on him about the permit, go ahead. But when it comes to the disqualification, that is all the Director General. The only thing Major is guilty of is allowing the Director General to do his job.

Exactly, however, some additional information about my decision about not having a permit to begin with: I had contacted a CORPS office earlier this year about getting a "Special Use Permit". They e-mailed me the forms, I filled them out and sent them back, via e-mail. A helpful member here told me he knew that person and said he would visit him to help get the permit. Turns out, the CORPS guy, based on the size of our group, not incorporated, not sponsored, said we didn't need the permit. I visited another CORPS office a week or so later and asked them about us needing a permit or not and that person said that we did NOT need a permit. So, going in to Butla I (wrongly) figured they would say the same thing so I didn't request a permit. I found out Friday afternoon that the CORPS people were asking some of our members if we were having a tournament. The question, to me, was; what's the definition of a "tournament". I tried to "dodge" the CORPS officials by changing the weigh-in location to off site. Bad decision. I should have faced them on Friday to determine weather or not we needed a permit. Foul called (in the way of a warning ticket), lesson learned. BTW, the lady that interviewed me and issued the warning was VERY nice but said "no second warning". The facts. Questions?
