Frustrated!!!

Put the bulk spool on the floor, run the line through the guides and tie it to the spool. Using a little tension just before the reel, wind on three or four turns. Keep tension on the reel spool and drop the rod tip. If the line twists between the bulk spool and the rod tip, turn the bulk spool over. Not trying to insult you JT but is your drag slipping when you're putting line on? I've done it several times. Hope you get it figured out. I switched to Berkely Nan-o-fil and solved my problem. And yes reel magic will help.

The way i have been doing for years, made taperd bolt and put it in portable drill,take the spool and put it on the boltthru the bottom of the spool hang the spool of line on a peg. Start the drill slow with bottom of the spool facing u the line goes on clock wise speed up the drill takes bout a min.I can respool 10 reels in about 45 min.

I had a reel/line, whichever way you want to look at it, that was the same way. No matter which way I tried to wind it on, it was twisted. Finally just pulled out all the line I wanted to put on the reel and cut it off the spool, layed out flat. Hooked to the reel and wound it on, using very light pressure with my fingers ahead of the reel. After fishing a while I would have to cut off and let a stretch of it trail behind the boat while idling along, to remove twist accumulated while fishing. It was a royal pain. Another reason I don't fish by casting very often. I'm sure all reels/line are not that way, or they would never sell any of them.

Another way is to tie a small weight ( or no weight ) on the line and let it all out behind the boat while at a slow trolling speed. Then reel the line back on while still trolling to keep tension on the line. This takes most of the twist out. We used to do this with salt water reels a lot.
