Hey EZ... I aint forgot about ya. Plan to call you when I leave work.
You have to go into the Sonar Tab and scroll down to SI Readout and turn them off to remove the Left Hand Readouts. It's user selectable if you want all the readouts on the Left side or want Depth and Temp OverLay and Full Screen SI.

Good lord I just looked at BP on the price of those things my wife would kill me then follow me to grave yard and kill me again! But gosh this system is so cool! WoW!

Any HBSi unit should look that way , right ? It doesn't have to be that big LIKE A 798 would work wouldn't it .Just smaller screen ?

CATCH THEM ALL.

Silly boys! Y'all know who ever has the biggest wins.

LOL that means I have to get the bigger screen not because I am trying to have something larger than anyone else. At my age and with the diabetes, I have already had to increase the size setting on my computer this spring. I really need to get my eyes checked because I am having trouble seeing the TV now! And I swear the newspaper is using alot small fonts too.
Ok guys say if I do get one of these things, what would you guys recommend. I have the same cheap units one in the front of the boat mounted to the trolling motor, then I have the other unit mounted by the steering wheel.
So you guys who own units like this do you mount them in front of the boat or in the rear?

Dmw, only depends if money is an object or not.. If it is, get at least one size larger than u can afford, if it's not, get the biggest made..
First off, I like my stick steer boat... I already had a 798 up front with an AB switch where I used the SI while looking for stuff and would switch to the US2 while slow fishing those spots. I also had a 788 in the back for cranking and LLing....
Now, I put a 998( which was one notch morn I cud afford), up front with the ducer in the back along with my 788 using the US2 on the TM. And moved the 798 to the back to use for cranking and LLing or for someone fishing in the back to watch. Ducer for that is also in the back. Haven't tested all this thoroughly, but the front part looked good this morn.

So i don't have to go to hummingbird and read....could someone explain the darker shade under the boat and how it changes color out from the boat.,,,,, Thanks from any information
-
Hopefully DG00 will see this and respond, he is way the expert around here.. I've seen several utube demos of it, but don't remember where right now.. Here is something to look at. Humminbird: America
One I saw said to visualize it like.... Take a piece of paper and draw the center line and then draw the lines on each side... Fold the paper at the center line and raise it up till the lines on the side are even then fold them left and right. That's ur water column below the ducer, and what u c to the left and right are what's down there ...
im still working on getting my brain to see this at a glance and not some time later after I have passed the spot.
