Is the tourism tax 9.5%? Just curious if they are considering anybody stopping at the gas station a tourist

I'm not sure. I think it's 9%. They just recently raised it an additional 1% at restaurants in Southaven to fund the parks. I've heard the tourism tax applies to certain businesses. I've also heard it applies to a certain corridor along Goodman Rd. I'm just not sure.
I've thought of reporting businesses to the State Tax Commission; it has been so long since I paid 7% it's not funny.

We're getting a decent one back too. Being a full time student has it's privileges. Buying me a new lawn mower

ATM, you appear to be correct. The 18 frosty dranks at hand were on sale at Shell in Hernando for 13.99, and was $15.25 after tax. Just did the math... 9%, so yes, if you buy gas in Desoto county you are considered a dirty tourist.

I thought tax refunds were for buying cheap azz hoopty cars, using them a month or two till they break down and hitch a ride to werk the rest of the year to get another refund and repeat!!!

Desoto prepared food tax was to pay for the civic center. Now that landers has the center why are we still paying the tax?
They are so wrapped up with this davis stuff they don't want to make a move on anything else.

Dang, I didn't make any money last year. That means I have to pay taxes on what I got as refund the year before.
