Good questions, fellas. I'm gonna point you to two links. The first is the MDWFP Boating Regs page at Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks
The second is the Boating Handbook at Handbook of Boating Laws and Responsibilities - Mississippi Boating License Laws and Safety Guide
Windstone, a throwable is defined as a Type 4. It is what most people call a "seat cushion" or a square kind. Another Type 4 is the ring type.
BRM, all of your PFD's need to be readily accessible. If you have it close where you can get it at a moment's notice, that should be fine.
Thanks, very informative info.
Thanks so much for stopping by. We've had alot of questions about regulations over the years and you answered most of them. Again. THANKS

Thanks Rob. I know most of the time my throwable is in my rod or storage locker, but it is handy if needed. Didn't know if that was sufficient.

Rob, keep an eye on Wannabe. If ever there was a character that was shady, he's it.
