Yeah I know Wannabe it does sound like me but I'm trying to eat a little healthier. I saw on the bag of ANDY'S seasoning it said "Bake, Broil and Fry" so I started reading the directions and sure enough it said "Oven fry directions". I was already baking some with Zateran's Blackened Seasoning which I will say is goooood !!! so I tried the oven fry, now don't get the wrong idea there is nothing like frying up some crappie in some hot grease but it's close. The bad think is I love hushpuppies and I can't figure out how to bake homemade hushpuppies.

It was not sold around here for awhile but I either bought it at Kroger or Walmart. I am going to try oven fry with Zaterans Southern Crispy fish fry mix. That's my favorite. If it works with Zaterans I will probably use that. Make sure you dry the fillets good so when you start baking the water doesn't start coming out of the fillets and make it soggy.

I make my own stuff up and dont ever use any bought, may try it with my mix. Reckon it would help to use a fluted stone to put em on ?

You can buy the Zateran's at Sam's club in a 5 lb bucket pretty cheap. About $5 if I'm remembering correctly.
I saw on here in a previous post where a lot of the guys use Andy's. Tried to find it then, but couldn't. I'll be checking at Kroger and Walmart again.

Mama's got me on the oven-fried most of the time now too, I told her "oven fried means NOT fried", that happened right before she knocked me over the head with a skillet.
It's all over but the fryin'......
