    i started with braid cause thats what creekslick uses,might loose a crank or two a year,most time wit 30lb u can pull them loose and never stop.i have never broke a pole,know how to set my drag,hehe.i have broke some holders ,but dont think it was because of the braid

    I use braid, and have never broke a pole. Like Maj and Rees said, just keep your drag set loose, and no prob. I use 10/3 braid, but put a cheap line as a backing. You only need about 300/400 feet of braid per reel, and you can measure that with the reel!!! I do use a clear leader too!
