we was getn em here in illinois last week in 2 foot of water. water temps was 43. couldnt believe it. maybe the 60 degree air temps and the sun shining brought em up shallow
I have always heard 3 consecutive when daytime temp + night time temp= 100* the fish will start the move. It's also got a lot to do with the days gettin longer
Yea I think the days getting longer means more than water temps but I think we can look for the spawn to be a little earlier than last year.

That influx of warm rain should get the shad to moving toward any current that is coming into the lakes. Right behind them are gonna be anything that feeds on those shad.It's supposed to get colder and the atmosphere dry out over the next week.High pressure and cooler temps may slow the bite down some!The crappie may start staging toward creek mouths till water temps warm again. Bet on it, they are gonna be where the food is!! Just my opinion, I ain't no expert!Whet yall thunk about it?

They dont tell you squat. Gonna tell ya what I have seen in 30 years of watching the spawn for the most part, when's Easter, bank on it on Grenada.
