It's so dead.

Here's one to cheer you up. Unhooked the boat last night and the trailer rolled about 4 inches, which is about .17" more slack than the emercency brake cable had.

It's a $40 parts kit replacement, or I can get an entire tongue assembly with new master cyclinder and shock absorber completely assembled for $160 delivered.

Catch is, the old one is welded on, so some serious grinding would have to be done to remove the existing one plus welding the new one on.

And....I'm not sure that the brakes are actually working to start with..maybe that I need new drums, shoes or both. I know the hydralic reservoir in the existing master cylinder looks like a coffee can with 1/2 water and 1/2 nails that have sat for about 3 years.

Dunno. Could be that I bolt it back together and leave it for now. Surge brakes are a joke any how, but that's a lot of boat behind my truck.
