Didn't yours go off that day when you got stranded in the storm?

Yep, sure did. When the rain hit so quick and my motor wouldn't go into gear, I knew better than to leave it on, so I took it off and stuffed it under the console. Just didn't count on the rain being so heavy as to fill the bottom of my boat to 3 inches. Boom! LOL. It was the least of my worries at that moment though.

My oldest son bet my youngest son $20 that he wouldn't pull the manual cord on one of mine one time inside the truck. I gave him that "You better not do it look" but I'm guessin I should have said it out loud. He went ahead and pulled it and buddy lemme tell ya something. If ya gonna do this inside the truck, take yo seatbelt off. They ain't no stoppin it when ya pull the cord. My oldest son would have been out $35 dollers if it hadn't been so funny.

Oh yea, one of mine is a sospenders and I ferget what the other one is. But they way mo comfortable to me. I hope I never hafta wear a full sized jacket.

I actually use both versions interchangably during the winter. I wear a full life jacket when I blast off in the morning and when I return at the end of the day but I wear an inflateable belt while fishing.

    Default Legal??

I was told that the DNR or the CC would not consider inflateable life jackets legal unless the person was wearing the jacket. In other words you could not have it in the storage and be legal. Anyone else hear this?

You must wear them on the Corps lakes when underway with the big motor at any speed over idle.

I am aware of that. But what I was told that they would not be considered as a life jacket if the person was not wearing it. If it was in storage it did not count as a legal life jacket. You have to have a life jacket for everyone in the boat and these would not count if the person was not wearing it. I don't know just what I heard.

I've heard that too and it makes sense in a way, but what if you've just made your big motor run with it on and you stop. I don't want it laying in the floor so I put it in the storage box. it oughta be legal.
