I did this too. When I got mine, they offered a 100 rebate for buying 4, and free mounting and Balancing.

If you've got a Pep Boys local or w/in reasonable distance, they have a buy 3 get 1 free deal going on at times, look at the Cooper Discoverer HT, good tire, quiet ride, good reviews, good grip in all weather. I'm on my 3rd set (3 different vehicles). I've read some bad reviews/comments about those GY's on different truck forums, most common gripe is no grip in wet weather and poor wear.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Go to your local tire store and ask em if they have any pull offs. My tire buddy pulls factory tires off of new trucks and puts custom tires and wheels on fer folks and then sells their tires. This is how I buy mine and I buy a set about every 9 months. Normally get a set fer half price or less and most of em have less than a 1000 miles on em.

I hate buying tires. It's almost as bad as buying cars. Even when I find a deal, I feel like I'm getting taken to the cleaners.

Anywho...I gave in years ago and started doing bidness with Gateway since it's convenient. One thing I do like is their lifetime balance, rotate and tire service. With a new set of tires from them, they will rotate and balance for free for the life of the tires. Also, flats are free. Over the ownership of the tires, that will save you more than the $200 in potential savings you're looking at.

My Dad did his business with them as well. He was tickled pink with them because he was out at the hunting camp so much, flat tires were a frequent occassion. He told me once that he had kept up with a set of tires he had and they had repaired 114 flats for him over their life without a single charge or any flack about it......I sure would have liked to have seen the inside of those tires before he replaced them. Prolly had so many plugs they looked like swiss cheese.

No I have ford vehicles, but I doubt the dealer would care what kinda vehicle for tires. Would just need to give one a call. All ford dealerships(as far as I know) have the same program. Works out the same as a tire store except I dont get road hazard on them. I use Homerskelton in Olive Branch MS.
