I use the simple slip rig with a 1/2oz (usually) egg sinker above a swivel and a snelled aberdeen hook or short leader with a jig. I've used the double hook methods in the past but always had issues with tangling and it was too much trouble for me at the end of the day.
Use a short 2-3in loop on top it never tangles.
