i mounted a 3.3 from barnett last year. it is my biggest ever. i'm not a good judge on fish weight by the eye. i would have guessed her to break 4.. kinda makes me look back and wonder about all them 2.5's caught each year??

here's my mounts. the top fish was a 2.5 caught by my dad back in the 80's. when i got mine mounted i had his re finished and put on a piece of driftwood i picked up from barnett while grab'n last summer. the pics really don't do the fish justice to me.

I've only mounted 2 fish in my life and they were caught 5 minutes apart from one another. Looking back on it, I would not have done it if I hadn't been so young at the time. The guy that mounted them was a friend of mine just starting out in the business and did 2 fish for $75. A steal! They were green carp! The fish weren't that large, but the events that led up to me catching them was the factor. It was a bad day for fishing, wind 15-20, rental boat, skulling paddle, friend in the back, early spring, cold water.I had just come up on a large beech tree that was blown down in the lake and skulling with 1 hand and casting with the other, I dropped a jignpig right against the trunk and a large branch. a thump and a 5 pound buck bass. I was keeping some fish for supper so I put him on the stringer.I managed to get the boat back into position and made another cast to the same spot. Bam! I caught another fish and this 1 was 6.5 lb female. While I was fighting her, she spit up a bream almost as big as my hand. I got her in and I got the bream that was still alive. All these events led to me mounting those fish even though they were not that big! If I had to do it now, I would have put her back to spawn and had him for dinner!

OLD FISHERMEN NEVER DIE, THEY JUST SMELL THAT WAY!!
