[QUOTE=Wannabe...;1746041]Tell the truth Scott. The only reason you got that fish mounted was for when Steve gets uppity and all I have to do is quietly point in the mount's direction and he'll get quiet and put his nose back into his Hatsboy magazine. BTW, does he still pin the centerfolds up in his garage?

WB, you are soooo jealousssss of me and my fine hats that you turn green with envy every time we post pixs plus you are such a tight wad that you won't even buy a new hat but once a decade. I guess the only thing you will spend money on is ketchup. Now be quiet and go bum some used sandpaper and go back to work and leave us stylish people to have fun.

I myself wouldn't mount anything under 3.5 to 4.0 lbs.In most of ms. lakes 3's are common.A fish over 19" would have to be over 4 lbs. I would say. I really don't know the equasion to determine weight by girth and length. I'll have to check into it. I'll mount a 3lb.er with a fork and some tartar sauce.

It'll take a 3.3ish fish for me to mount it. NEVER have caught a 3 pounder yet though but do have several at 2.7 to 2.8 and all of those came out of barnett. NEVER caught anything over 2.3 pounds at a COE lake

Well since I do deer taxidermy I know what you are asking. Each person that has a deer mounted has different reasons each time. Its their first bow kill, their child’s first buck or doe, actually doe are very good looking when mounted. But each has something in common. They have a good hunting story to go with it and the deer means something to them whether it is a large rack or just a hard hunting season where the person put in tons of time and effort to get this deer. At any rate same would apply to a fish or crappie in this situation.
If you catch one and it’s your personal best, why not mount it? It means something to you and you have a great story to go with it that you will never forget. I think sometimes we get too tied up in trying to catch the most or the biggest fish we can that we forget to remember why we are fishing in the first place, because we love it!
If it means something to you I would say get it mounted and get a small brass plate put on the mount to have something on it that always remind you of that day. You can even take a picture the day you catch it and have it added to the mount, this adds more memory to your story over the years.
