    KD, the plate discussed here is not a "quick disconnect" plate. It is a permanent-mount plate used to maximize the TM placement. I use a quick disconnect plate on my 80.b Terrova so I can position my TM across the bow so my garage door will close. If you need to move you TM so your tarp will fit, you can put a QD plate on the perm plate and it would work just fine.
