That's not out of the ordinary for they way they use those boats up Norf. Only thing I'd want to know is which kind of oil has been run through it and wheather or not a fuel treatment like Ring Free or Quick Klean has been run through it.

Alright...what about this one? Not searched long enough to find one used for sale, but is a good option for dual console and still able to store long rods and plenty of other storage and seating for 4.......Anyone been in one or seen one up close?

Whelp, the Z9 is ahhhhhsummmm! Pretty quick with 250 power at mid 70s, had a padded front deck and a beam to die for. Hitches - have some cheap tendencies on their build - drop in plastic boxes (which I like, but is generally frowned upon) - I like them because they are easily removed for rigging and cheater storage. Also should be relatively cheap to replace - which you are bound to have to at some point during ownership. Guardian Livewells are fantastic - but on the small side at 20 gallons each, but more than adequate for when it's important. Noted the description on the CDC claims a 21 gallon front livewell. That would be sweet, but I'm not sure it's correct....have never seen it noted before, although I've never walked up on a CDC model to see for myself. I've sat in a Z5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Even the 5 has an incredible beam.
Now the bad part....on the CDC...the question is....why? It's gonna be a wanker to get around in pitching seas. I rode in a 929CDC in moderate weather and thought it was pretty cool. Even though there was adequate room to go around the console without swiveling your hips, your mind still told you to do it to keep from bumping the console or catching it making the maneuver akward. Except for the front livewell, if that is really there, there's no reason to go for the CDC. You really gain nothing by going with it as a Crappie fisherman and it make the boat special or one off for resale, decreasing the market.
The second console is an option and easily removed on all X boats...although it's something like a $1,200 option (ouch).

One other thought on the CDC, there's no option for foot placement to get to the back deck other than right into the extra seats. Bummer on a 45K boat. The SC/DC models have spacers to allow for a foot step. Oh and you can get a 1 year old SC/DC for right at 30K. For 35K you can get top knotch electronics and all the options included. No reason to buy a new one at all.

Good points to think about. The description says the extra side seats slide to access the foot steps on each side. Not sure what they mean "slide". The front livewell appears to be directly in front of the console. Maybe a problem on resale since they are not popular, yet. I am kinda liking it the more I look at it. Except the price. Still figuring out how to fit it in with the newborn and all that. Maybe just window shopping and drooling for a while. Guess me & the boy will both need a bib !
