From Southaven, Calvert City is a whole lot closer via US 51 and Purchase Parkway. No Grizzly, unless you cut across I-155 to Caruthersville at Dyersburg, but Patti's 1860 encampment resturant in Grand Rivers, Ky (Land Between The Lakes) is worth the stop. No throwed rolls but have mighty fine stuffed porkchops and bread cooked in flowerpots. Jus' saying...
Mapquest says it is little over 40 miles longer going up 55 but 30 minutes faster than using 51. I hate driving two lane hiways and having to stop at traffic lights in every po dunk town you go through.

Have to agree with Reel Man. I went I-55 to I-155 and 51 and Purchase Parkway when I went to the Shindig. Came back to Memphis via Purchase Parkway and US 51. Didn't really pay attention, but the trip back to Memphis was a whole lot faster that the trip up. The only marginal road you have is when you leave Union City out to about the old tire plant(being resurfaced).
