Good job... I broke a tip on the same rod today catching one of the baby 14" MO crappie. A 14" up here might weight 1 1/4.

Ha, those 8' B&M trolling rods are as limber as a spinning rod. I tried to lift a 1/2 lb catfish in with it and "snap".

Well guys, I ain't too sure about this longlining thing. I caught one decent crappie and several dinks, one catfish and several stumps. A busy of mine was pulling cranks and he wasn't doing much either. Maybe they just weren't biting.

Took my daughter to Wolf today, Scott. We longlined from 10:00 till 2:00. Hooked one fish. Started fishing 5' water around trees single poling and caught 8 good ones in about two hours. Wrong time of day? I don't know.

I'm still trying to get the technique down. Plus I didn't fish but about 4 hrs. I think I'd do better at Okatibbee spider rigging jigs along the stumps on the creek channel.

I had to give up on ll'n and go back to what I knew would keep my daughter happy. I'm like you, trying to learn, and it is hard to concentrate on ll when you know you can catch fishes the old way.

Yea, I went over some of my waypoints for brush and stumps today and I could see the fish on the depth finder. I was wishing I had my jig poles then. Lol
