    Default Boat Maintenence

If you are getting ready to store your boat here are some things to do.

Change lower unit oil, If there is any water this will kep it from freezing and busting your housing.

Run stabil or some kind of ethanol/ storage treatment

When storing your engine take the motor toter off and let engine all the way down/ This lets any water trapped in the cooling system to drain.

Go on and put in a fresh set of plugs and top off oil (oil tank will not condensate when full)

X2 I have not winterized my boat in 10 years.. I do keep it in a heated garage. The only thing that keeps me off the water is ice. So the longest my boat will sit is 30 days. It's more likely to sit in 97 heat than 37 cold.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

The warmer the better, you can use a hair dryer to heat up the gear box. Dont know if they still do it but i also used to get a can of oil fogger, with eng runnig spray oil into the air intake. If your boat stays outside lower the motor so water doesnt freeze in the hub.

    Yes, 90 degrees verticle.

Also, good time to check the air pressure in your tires and at least inspect the hubs for grease blow by if not pull and repack the bearings.

One other good idea is to pull your prop on your outboard and TM and inspect for line around the shaft.
