Could you mount it as far as possible from the TM? Or deeper than the TM? I don't think the prop wash is real bad off the TM but that might could help. Just remember if you stick it 2 - 3 feet in the water you need to set your depth offset in the 998 accordingly to get accurate depths. I have to do this when I move my unit to the TM.

I think this is really cool . I want to get a better one and have it up front on the trolling motor . But i would like to have the use of it when i am not using the tm . Do they a split cord for dual use ?

Not sure what you mean about a "split" cord. I had to get the power cord seperately, the ducer and puck came wired and they all go into a collector that plugs into the back of the unit.

Instead of one cable and moving it . Have that splits to a double end and run one to the front and one to the back . Like a "y" .

I don't think so. I'm swaping these between two different boats.

I know that is what you are doing . I was just thinking on taking it off the trolling motor doing more of a perminent on like tm brace on the front , but move the console front and back . Like a split coax for a radio in reverse .

That might work, but I just don't know for sure. And the stinking power cord is $45.00 plus shipping.

I HEAR YA. IT WAS JUST SOMETHING I WAS THINKING ABOUT FOR ME TO TRY . IF IT WAS TO STAY IN ONE PLACE , I WOULDN'T WANT THE CABLE LAYING OUT ALREADY GOT ENOUGH STUFF TO GET TANGLED UP ON . WOULDN'T WANT ALL THAT DUCK TAPE TO HOLD EVERYTHING IN PLACE . Hands Clapping
