I disagree, especially when you figure running the cables for the two pucks, I can figure the distance from the GPS to the Transducer, and don't need the xtra puck on the HDS's. Minus 200. I wasn't aware of the need for a Nema cable either, but you do need an extra Ethernet cable for the second unit to network them. I also use an Interlink to network two HB's. Plus 150 installed. I also wasn't aware you could Network with just an Ethernet cable, and enter the same waypoints, and share the same info on both units at once. I was told by a tech at HB you needed the Interlink to do it, and have installed several of them. If you're right, and I certainly hope you are, Minus 150. I'm calling HB tomorrow and ask WHY I needed the Inlerlink if you're right!!!!
Anyway, both are nice units, and it's really personal preference. I like the HDS units better, but I do sell lots of both. I also was in the car audio business for 30+ years, and I guess a few wires didn't matter anyway.
So, we have a transducer cable, and three power wires for a total of 4 on the LSS-1, and we have two power wires on the Interlink, and two Puck cables for a total of 4. Sounds like an even trade off, unless I missed one here or there.
IF you use the Interlink, and using YOUR figures, the price difference is relatively negligible. Hey, if you have the money for these units, what's a hundred or two either way!!!!!!!
