Back some time we had a debate about the length of time it takes to thaw fish. I was told that by freezing in water that it would take all day to thaw and I disputed this but had only my feelings on the subject to support my stand.
Apporozimately 40 minutes ago I took a quart freezer bag of fish out of the freezer and started the process as we are going to eat em for lunch. Just under 30 minutes later I had fish thawed and ready for the grease, at 20 minutes I had enuff thawed to start cooking if I had wanted to.
So, results: 20 minutes ready to start and 30 minutes completely thawed.Thumbs Up

I also thaw mine in warm water, not hot water. I eat crappie about twice a month year round. It always takes me about 1.5 hr in the water before they are ready for the skillet.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
i will lay my bags of fish in the sink to thaw while I'm at work all day. I don't put them in water, just lay them in the sink. They generally have just a little ice in them when I get home. Almost ready to cook at that point.
if i put mine on the back porch in this heat, their thawed and nearly cooked in 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!! lol
I'll take mine and put in fridge the night before. It'll take about 15 minutes to finish thawing laying on the counter before they're cooked.
Fill the sink with cold water they will thaw out in no time and worry of any disease getting in.
