Thread: Another Dysfunctional Feshin Trip

Chapter 1: The Invite

I was werkin my fingers to the bone Tuesday and happened up in Nader at 12:05, so I sent WB a text. I had already ate lunch, but was willing to drank a glass of unsweet tea and watch him eat. I knew my sheer presence alone would do the boy good cause ain't nobody offered him a free lunch in a while.
So the text read something like this:
Minner: Where you eatin at?
WB: Im at home.
Minner: IS won't let you eat out?
WB: Not on Tuesday's, unless somebody's buyin.
Minner: I see.
WB: Yea, but I'll be ok. She left me a piece of bacon from the boys breakfast and a couple of pieces of wheat bread to make a sammich.
Minner: Oh. Ok. Well, I'll be on my way then. Guess I should've called earlier so you could have gotten permission.
WB: you know the rules. Ya gotta give me 30 minutes notice so I can ask her.
Minner: Yea I know.
WB: you gonnna be in town this evening? I'm tying some rigs and really want you to help me find some fesh for the tourney.
Minner: Not today.
WB: What about Thursday? IS won't let me go on Wednesdays. I hafta cook supper before church.
Minner: Let me check my schedule and make sure ain't nobody else wants to go.
WB: Thanks. I sure wished you'd be able to go with me. I got my poles painted up and two new rigs tied up, so I'm ready to kick DD's tail.
After several minutes of tryin to find a reason not to go, I text back.
Minner: Looks like I've werked it out so I can go with ya. What you want me to brang?
WB: just your wealth of knowledge.
Minner: ok, I'll brang the minners. Have you got the diet cokes?
WB: yup and I even got you some baby carrots and celery sticks.
Minner: What time? I can be there at 2:00.
WB: IS won't let me get off that early, but I'll see ifn she'll let me leave werk around 3:15 and I'll meet you at Graysport at 3:30.
Minner: ok. See ya then.
WB: gee thanks Minner. You da best.
Minner: No problem.

He has text me several times since telling me how excited he was and how he's fer sure gonna kick DD's tail now.

That ain't true. I ain't fishing with WB.
