Default Anybody use their foot control on their Terrova?

Does anyone use their foot control for slow trolling or stump fishing? I haven't used mine yet but if I don't figure something out real quick, I'm gonna find a new home for my Terrova 101. Got so made Thursday, Deborah was even cussing. I can't fish the stumps like I could with my Maxxium. Does the foot control work like a regular foot control?

No....It works just like your remote.....only difference is your pushing the buttons with your foot instead of your finger. It takes awhile to get used to in the stumps and it will never do the job your maxxium did in that situation. Thats why some of the pro's ( Capps&Coleman, Driscoll, and others) still use a maxxium. Best situation is to have the removable mounting plate and use the terrova for spider rigging, long lineing, and pulling cranks and switch out and put on the maxxium for stump fishing.

I found that the foot control was way to slow to fish wood--I assume some people are a lot better at it than I ever was
Don,t troll that much so I sold my and went to maxium

What G, Tman and Frank said, I still have my quick disc and my Maxxum for those reasons. So far, it's been ok in the stumps, but they're right, never as good as the foot control in that condition. I'm gonna keep using it for a while longer for both..

Terrova's are the best for most types of fishing but you don't buy em for the foot control. That is their only weakness.

I have never used the hand control but have been using the foot control like these have since they came out in the late 80's. I bought one of the motors that had the first maximiser in it and it had this type on it. Once you get used to it you wont have iny probs unless you are like I am and wonderdog wants to help you with it.

I am getting better with mine all the time. I have a friend up in TN that is a guide and he fishes standing timber all the time with his. It can be done but it takes some getting used to.
