One thing is being able to stay on the power switch and turn at the same time. I love mine just need a hand control now.

Thanks guys! I guess I'm gonna have to get out there and try it. I was pretty good at slow trolling in the stumps with my Maxxima but not with the Terrova. You gotta be watching the head to much for me. I'd rather be watching the poles and the stumps. The Maxxima does have a slight hesitation when moving but I guess I got to get used to it. Also, need to get WB's feedback!RoflRoflRofl

Been using a v-2 for about 3 years now with the foot control. I went through some difficult days before I got used to it. I fish lakes with lots of stumps and logs, and have gotten used to guiding the boat without looking at the head. It's not as quick a response as the cable steers, but it's a lot easier to use trolling. Takes patience and practice.

Best situation is to have the removable mounting plate and use the terrova for spider rigging, long lineing, and pulling cranks and switch out and put on the maxxium for stump fishing.
X2. You will have to anticipate the turn with the Terrova. You will never get the quick turns like with the Maxxum. The motor just won't turn as fast as the cables. You will get used to it but it is frustrating at first. You will learn to turn the motor before you hit the power in anticipation of the turn. In tight timber/stumps it is a pain. You can't back out fast enough. Same problem spider riggin under docks.

I use the remote and foot controls together when spider rigging, which isn't very often. Still takes some getting used to.

    Default Terrova

I use the terrova 101 and I hand fish structure 90% of the time. It took some real getting used to... Now I really have no problem with it. I hold the remote in one hand and pole in the other and rarely look at the head or the remote.
Now the downside.. I have just finished wearing the buttons off my 2nd remote. Seems they may not have been designed for that much use.. At 100.00 each it can be a little painful...
