The other day pulling cranks. We were going along a recorded track between 1.3 and 1.5 when we got to the end of the track the motor shut off,by the time i found the remote and started the motor back up we were at .9mph. As soon as the motor started again instantly 2 rods went off. I never tried it again cause we were planning on leaving anyway but will try next time.

Had the same thing happen to me before bud. Think about it, your jigging and that bait sits there for a sec and the fish approaches, Then you twitch it and get a strike. Just a different motion and it causes a strike. I do get alot of strikes when I've been going slower, then kick it up to fast as soon as I turn up the speed. Try making hard turns in a figure S sometime. I got that from a good ole boy that USED to post on here alot. Course he's ugly a heck but a good ole boy. JWhite wrote a crank article on the main board and it talks about the figure S stuff

A lot of times when we are spider riggin in a stump field we will get bites when dodgin a stump or if the boat bounces off a stump. When that happens, we speed up and make several sharp cuts.
I use turning the boat pretty sharp (zig-zagging) to get a similiar affect. Learned this while pulling jigs, can work the same way.
