Before your son purchases a Tracker boat he needs to look at the same model in a Lowes boat. More leg room for the driver and a lot wider boat. When the general manager doesn't know about what it covers I wouldn't spend the money.

We looked at the Lowe first and I liked it better but he liked the tracker, so its his call

Personally.....I think the Lowe is a better boat than the Tracker.......The Tracker with all its red paint and all might look better to a young first boat buyer.......but look at how it is constructed......look at the welds etc. the Lowe is better. Plus the Lowe is a wider more stable boat. By the way, I owned a Tracker for 22 years and never had a problem with anything.

You can custom build a 1654 or 1754 with a 50 to 75 hp engine for less than 13k and get what you want.

Or you could buy OleMiss' 16 ff CC F&F for a good price too. I like those Lowe Stingers over Tracker myself.

Trackers are not bad boats, it's just that there is so much better out there. You do get a lot of boat for the money and they are laid out well for the available space, but they do have their draw backs.

I had that exact Stratos before my Triton and ABSOLUTELY LOVED THAT BOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just needed one bigger to put 3-4 bodies in.
