For a reference, here's where I'm at. Tankish boat, 115hp, 4 blade SS 17p prop, jumps out of the hole, tops out at 40mph at 6200rpm at WOT. the manual suggests a max rpm of 58-6400rpm.

What kind of boat you running Stump? And what motor is it? 600 rpm is a heck of a range. Most I've seen have a spread of 400.
