    Question Holeshot question

Holeshot on pops rig aint too hot. It's not underpowered by any means. The 115 is just having a hard time getting a grip. He has a kicker and 3 batteries in the back, but the fuel is centrally located.

My boat only has a 90, with 27 gallons in the back and would jump plane very quick.

He has a 8 inch jack plate. Does the extra 8 inches mechanically added that much weight? Maybe he needs a 4 blade prop?

What dia. and pitch prop is he running? He may need to drop down in pitch....it will cut his top end speed some but will make it come out of the hole better. Actually the jack plate should be helping him.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

How's it doing top end, if you improve holeshot you most likely will give up some top end. 8 inch set-back is a positive and should help not hurt.

Es that extra motor is gonna be a BIG factor. With my prop boogered up, I cant get on plane with a half tank of gas, full livewell and two people, but if one moves to the front, and I dont hit it wide open, it'll bite and plane quickly... I think G is right, a drop in pitch may be in order or else a 4 blade will launch it on out of the hole

Just remember if you go to a 4 blade to drop the pitch by 2, if your running a 22 in the 3 blade you need a 20 in a 4 blade.
