Default Arkabutla.. They said it couldn't be done...

Too many people catchin easy fish from Sardis, Enid and Grenada, so I took my stubborn self to Butla Saturday morning. I was on a mission.

The line at Kelly's crossing "ramp" was long and intense.

So I went back into a cove as far as I could. Fished all the way back into the woods til I hit 3 ft of water and fished some more.

Spent about 3 hours in those woods with only one bite. And missed it cause I'd gotten rather bored and was texting!Doh

Thought for sure that the hungry fish would be hanging out at the fridge

So I finally decided to leave. On the way back to the ramp I figured what the heck I should find some flooded fields and give it a shot. I just need one keeper to make all yall shut your moufs. So I found me some prime territory flooded fields, 4' deep.

Just knew I'd find one in this blind ready to ambush

Set out the trolling rods and trolled about another hour with one bite.

So.. Around 5 hours on the water, two bites, zero fish:o Skunked. I'm sure there are some folks that know the lake better and could or did find a few, but I'm not one of them. Good call on canceling the FJ. It's one thing for me to get skunked since I live 15 minutes away. It's another to have 15 boats that traveled across state just to come up fishless.

I really wasn't that bad. The picture with the fridge was kinda a funk collection spot. Overall the water was fine, just muddy. Last time I went into that cove at Kelly's, it was 5 ft deep. Same spot had 30 ft
