Someone said they saw where the Corps had a meeting and are talking about breeching the levee somewhere in Missouri. I really can't believe this but if they did it would have to be Cape and flood 140000 acres of farm land.

It around New Madrid, Torch. There's an old law on the books that requires the Corps of Engineers to blow this particular levee if the river reaches a certian level on the Cairo Illinois gauge. This law was put into effect when Cairo was a booming metropolis, to take pressure off of Cairo's levee. New Madrid County and some land owners have filed an emergency injunction in Federal Court against the Corps to stop them from blowing it.

Torch, I saw that on our news last night and it is somewhere in or around a SE MO flyway going diagnol from Mo into Il. I was busy working on the computer and just caught bits and pieces of it, but it IS being considered. In the last 36 hours I have dumpted 12.75" out of my rain gauge.
We were told today that if the river reaches these levels that it will come over at Friars Point Mississippi. That is due west of Clarksdale and about 25 NW of me and Sat. I hope this makes a pencil pusher some where realize they need to let this water go in the winter months.
