I like the floating idea too. If a lake heats up we can have an emergency FJ to go put the fire out
Ya'll have fun discussing all this for next year and let me know where and when do be there and I will IF I can make it
Has anybody mentioned Columbus yet?
You may also want to consider alternating North/South lakes so you don't end up with expensive trips back to back for those who have to travel. Not sure if this is possible and stay on the "hot" lakes but I hated missing the beginning of the season because of the distance.
What about this-- If a lake gets hot, we will know about it by Sunday night more than likely. Plan the next tournament the next Saturday and if folks want to, cancel the next scheduled tournament to help folks out on money woes or go ahead and have it. I mean do we really have to stick that close to 8 tournaments?
There's a Comfort Inn that loves to see tournaments come in. They have boat hooh-ups in the parking lot next door and they furnish security at night. The city of Columbus might even through in a few dollars for the pot. Columbus would be a good "Finals" location.
I got an idear to kick around. What about a FJ Gewbers vs West Alabama Gewbers tourney/camp held at Columbus/Aliceville/Gainsville lakes the second weekend of September. Cook on Friday night before and bs/socialize. I'll cook.
This format will give both sides 2 lakes to fesh without having to buy out of state license. Plenty of camp grounds on the lakes and plenty of motels in Columbus.
We could pay out top 3 individuals and then have the top 5 weights from each side to determine the team winner with a sticky thread with a pic of the winning side holdin a trophy to brag about.
Just another option and somewhere new and different folks to talk with.
If any is interested I'll start a new thread and get the ball rollin.
You wouldn't want to stack the deck would you since most of these guys have never seen the Tenn-Tom, much less fished it. But you have planted a seed and now we can see where and how it grows. Would the WA boys be opposed to swaping sides of the state every other year? Like have it at Columbus next year then Sardis the next and then maybe Ala. River and then Barnett? Might even take it to Lake Fork, Tx or KY Lake.
