Heck!!! You think it will be that bad??? I would hope the stump will give a good bit and save me from getting thrown out. Plus the kick plate should deflect the energy by the motor kicking up and keeping the boat from just slamming to a near stop. I'm hoping anyway!

Yeh and then the weight of the motor and the kick plate is going to drop down with force and stress your transom....dadgumit man......are you related to ES? Rofl You idle through stump fields with the motor trimmed up as far as you can and still get water flow. Maybe you should have got a air boat, lol.

i have a 16 ft tracker panfish with a 40 merc on it , i put a jack plate on it to get the motor up higher and back ( 5in x 5 in ) as i run a lot in a small river filled with down trees and stuff , i also have tilt/trim and when i go in short water i run ( at idle of course ) basically with just the prop in the water or slightly breaking the water , if my boat goes over it then the motor goes over it also . i also ran a line up front with the tell tale for the water pump and it exits just in front of me where i can see at all times that the water pump is pumping water . for my use it works great , just depends on what kinda water you fish in most i suppose

ole miss if you hit something at 35 it ain't gonna much matter what you got on the back and what ever is inside the boat is gonna get some nre addresses also. Me and a buddy hit a stump opn eagle lake many moons ago at only about 15 and I did not stop until I hit the front step. I still got scars from that one.
