Got my breakin done and O-M-G. That yammy sho is a stud. I am on plane quicker that a cat can lick (well you know) wind was rough by the time I had enough hours on it so still haven't been able to really open it up yet. I can say it don't take as much throttle or trim to hit 50 as it did.

According to the manual I need some more hrs. According to the guy at the boat shop he says I have it losened up now and the rings seated and told me to just go fishing, but not to let it idle very long at a time and to vary my speed while driving for the rest of my 10 hrs. and not to hold it at WOT for very long untill the 10 hrs. is up. I have 4 hrs. run time on it at the RPM ranges that the manual called for.

My manual says about the same thing G
    hour 1 - under 2000
    hour 2 - under 3000
hours 3 thru 10 -fish it (i added that in there0 It actually says to operate normally but to vary rpms and do not hold WOT for more than 5 minutes and not to idle for more than 5 minutes at a time. I went out and checked the hour meter and mine has 10.4 on it now.

I don't know about Yammy's but the Mercury Mechanic that travels with BASS told to let my motor warm up real good before running it and then to let it idle a while before turning it off. Help keep it from blowing up.

I have actually seen a Merc do that over on Wolf lake before. The manual for the Yamaha didn't say anything about warm up and cool down but I will be calling today and verify that. I am just waiting for the wind to die some so I can see what it will really do now.
