    Make sure your pig tail is in your truck socket real good. I basically did the same thing and found out the pig tail was working itself out and causing the lights work sometimes.

    Acadamey Sports has a trailer connector that lights up when plugged up. If the light isn't burning, your lights won't work. It's worth the money($25.00).
