Not really sure what you're asking for Jay. You can mount a transome mount to the back or front and steer by hand or you can mount a foot control, bow mount on the front and be hands free.

I've seen folks modify transom mounts with a brake cable on a stick run from the front to the back too...but not really sure what you're trying to accomplish, so need more info.

There's also a wireless controller for a transom mount that has a mechanism that attaches to the motor with a wireless foot controller. I think Pro-Kontroll makes it.

Guys...I think he is talking about one man type boats. I've got one that I'll take pictures of for you tomorrow...its really cheap and simple controls...left hand side is the stick and I have a bigfoot switch mounted in the floor to turn the TM off and on....fish with your right hand and steer with left.

Jay, I am affiliated with a company that produces two products, one of which may fill your needs. They are available by ProControll, one allows you to place your trolling motor anywhere on a boat with a top rail no more than three inches wide and the other works off the transom and converts your hand controlled motor to foot controlled up to a 40lb motor.
