    Default This sucks!!!


    Just talked to Humminbird about a software problem I am having with my 2 units. I have a 787 on the front and a 798 on the console. I downloaded both updates for my units on different cards. Went to both units and downloaded hardware as instructed. I kept getting a message on my 798 that the 787 needed upgrading. I went through this mess 3 times with no success. I call Eufala, AL and the nice lady tells me that the inter-link will not work due to the fact that I have 2 different versions of software. I have to download an older version for my 798 and install it so both units will work together. It appears that the 787 is on it's way out and no future sofeware will be available. This means I can buy new units or use what I have. That ain't right. I wonder what Lowrance would have to say? May have to float a loan with WB and purchase a HDS10 and a HDS8.

    All you really need is the 7 and 8 unless you are REALLLLLLL blind and just need the extra screen size on the 10

    He ain't blind, but he's fairly tall and his eyes are sunk way back in his head....so...better go with 2 HDS10s. All I need is a 40% down payment, 2nd mortgage agreement on your house for collateral, and a blood and stool sample to get started. You can drop the stool sample over on DD's front porch.

    What would the upgrade allowed you to do on your 798? Just adding the range lines to SI, contour mode for SI, and SI navigation? I don't use any of those anyway.... I did upgrade my unit so I had them but I doubt I will ever use them. Now if they come out with an upgrade to reduce the readouts on the side of the screen... Then I would upgrade real fast...

    Just go on and give me the 798.. I'll put that on the front of my boat...

    They are e-mailing me 4.910 version to download and I think she said that it has contourmode on it.
    Wb, would a sd card with all of my waypoints work for collateral?

    all i have is a simple 363 on one boat and a 125 i think on my other................saves me this kind of aggravation, lol.
