The Golden Rule is a good measuring device. I have used it as well. It just will not contain the fish like the B'n'M Slabmaster Crappie Saver among many other things that the "saver" has to offer. Lets face it 12 inches is 12 inches no matter the ruler as long it has been manufactured with precision tooling measurements. Anyway if its that close there shouldn't be any question anyway.
