Major that's the way the natives do it! Not opposed to a cork in fact I will use a cork and jig and push at times. Especially productive when they are just soft mouthing it. They will come up and hold it, cork lays over, ch ching. Caught my biggest that way. Natchez is a mecca for fishing. Most those ole boys are tight lipped about their fishing holes. Can't really blame em.

I had a great time fishing around Natchez, had a 14' jon with 6hp & clamp-on Minn Kota, not fancy but caught a lot of big crappie with it.
