And also, the wind was not a factor at all. It was slick as otter snot untill the bass guys came through. They never slowed down and would run by ya with 15 feet or sO. Gonna try it again in the morning and see if anything has cahaged. If not, think i will try chotard before i head home later this week.

Haha.. No topic seems to stay on topic in these forums. Several of us fished this weekend and the results are talked about here:

This weekend the fish seemed to bite real light like DonDon stated. A few were caught but they wanted it sitting still and would barely hit it. I was single poling holding my rod in front of the handle with the line in my hand to feel the bites. They also wanted a small jig. Hopefully things will pick up. The fishing got real slow after the big rain (5 inches) on New Years Eve/Day. The water is still muddy and the current is getting less each day. I think it will pick up but might be a week or so. The water temperature is also the coldest I have seen all year at 40 degrees.

Have you tried Roses Bluff yet? Find the Rivers edge and fish the structure and drops. They may be suspended over the brushtops or other structure folks have put out. Then again they may be just off the bottom. Gott anything that resembles a crawfish? try that, there, with some kinda scent, bumping it off the bottom. Use yo Lektronics

Grenada is a great lake forsure!!! I believe if they would put the same restrictions on the Rez. it would be just as good.
You guys need to fish it more before you put it down. Some of the best fishermen in crappie fishing would tell you the same thing.
Coach sounds like bad timing. Give her another try.

I been thinking about doing that myself.... But haven't tried it yet. I bet the water is clear down there.

This is what I hate about Barnett. Last year at the FJ I had some clown in a Bass Boat go BETWEEN me and my planer board while pulling cranks and he never let up. I'll never go back.

YYap, yap, yap. Bitch, bitch, bitch. Barnett is just as good a lake as Grenada day in and day out, probably better. You cannot go to Grenada on a consistant basis and catch the numbers you can on Barnett. Many years ago, fishermen called Grenada the Dead Sea. Only in the last 12=15 years has this changed.

Feelay, how many times have you gone to Grenada in 1 years time and catch the 30 fish limit by yourself?
How many days could you fish the areas you wanted to? HOw many times have you caught a 3lb+ crappie when it wasn't spring time?
I have been crappie fishing both lakes for over 25 years and have never seen the lake level of Barnett below 296. A 10" limit would hurt barnett in the long run because we have to many crappie. That is why we don't hear about the 3 lb. crappie as much as Grenada. If PRVWM would do a draw down every five years, you would see several 3, 4 and maybe some 5lb. crappie come out of Barnett. That will never happen because to many home owners would complain.

Yikes, you need a better excuse for no coming to the fruit jar. How do you expect a boat traveling 60 mph to see a small yellow baord floating in
ROUGH water? Tournament fishing comes with all ups and downs. That is way it is competition. Win some and loose some, others get cancelled.

Coachnomo-- come on down to the fruit jar and we will find some fish somewhere. We might have to ride to Vicksburg but we will find so. If not, we'll sit around SvottV's camper and tall about SEC football.
