OIC, You want the 6" offset which will actually go on the outside of the boat. Keep in mind, I make these up to 20" tall which is more than enough height to allow you to get into your rod box.. Are you planing on mounting these on the top of the rail? If so, what is the width of the rail?

Why don't you open your rod locker lid and mount your holders just a tad taller? That's what I did. This gets em off the floor and away from some gewbers size 11's or in my case it keeps my kids from Usin my rods as door mats.

don`t care if they open all the way minner ,figured i would attach a bungie or something from the inside of the compartments and tie to rod racks when needed and thats not much

BB....I got the top parts un painted etc. and I am making my own stands and bases. Thats easier than trying to explain to Gene how I want them to fit my boat. The two stand heights are going to be different on mine to make the poles lay level with the boat....different deck heights.....plus I need a off set more on the front one than the back one etc. just kind of hard to explain to somebody if your both not looking at the boat itself. Any how....When I get through making the stands and bases and welding my top pat on etc...I will spray them with cold galvanizing compound....then plastic dip the holder parts and then paint the rest black and install them.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
