    Serious ?, why would you want the bill painted? To me it would make the lure look bigger, is that a good or bad idea? I would think the smaller profile would work better for crappie but really don't know.

    Make several stands and you can do however many you want to paint at one time. I have a bunch of them out in the shop somewhere that I used when I used to make top water bass lures.Name:  001.JPG

    Some, like Brads, come painted. I've been told that they like bigger profile.

    Those cranks look good Scott!! I was thinking that you could use a pair of needle nose vice grips and you could still hold the bait in your hand and turn it however you need. Just an idea instead of making a stand.

    I glued an aligator clip on a stick that I can hold the crank with. I'll play with painting a few bills and see how they turn out.
