Default Got my new batteries at lunch

n gonna hook it up this evening. Question for ya. How long do you charge them when you come off the water? I have a Bass Pro onboard that has an extension cord with it. Just don;t know much about it. I used it when I got the boat but I've had a bad battery for awhile now and haven't used it

The BPS XPS chargers have a chip that tells them when the batteries are fully charged and the charger cuts back to maintenance mode. Every so often, it will kick on, check the voltage and cut back off on it's own. If the batteries register less than 100% charge, the charger will bring them to 100% and then cut back off.

In other words, you can leave it plugged up 24X7 for years at a time. I normally plug it in for a couple or 3 days and if I happen by and think about it, I'll unplug it. Then the day before, I'll plug it up again if I think about it. I only do this to save wear and tear on the charger and a little bit of electricity though. I have left mine plugged for a couple of weeks or more though.

I plug my onboard charger in when I unhook the boat from my truck....I don't ever unplug it untill I hook up to the truck again.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I guess I'll have to put my cranking battery on my portable charger and use more extension cord when I get home from now on. I need a new one there but it'll do for now

Or get a 3-bank charger like you should have anyway.
