that is just terrible. His family is in our prayers. I have several friends fishing that regional as I used to fish the BFL myself. I have ridden with a couple guys, when I fished the coangler side, that didn't know but one speed, WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. I tell them I fish to have fun not have the crap scared out of me.
