Default What's the best line for spider rigging ??

i have been using 6lbs hi vise green on my spider rigging poles with a clear leader. Thinking about to start using my 14' PS trolling rods with the line counter reels and i have 10 lbs test on them and don't want to change the reels. wondering if it is going to make alot of difference. Wanted to see what everybody else was using.

I use 10# vicious hivis on mine. These lakes are so muddy, it makes no difference.

You should be fine with the 10lb test...

I use HiVis vicious 10# most of the time. 6# is the least I would use.

Heck, as muddy as it is on my home lake, Barnett, I've been using 20 lb hi-vis BRAID lol don't make that much of a difference. When we were at Enid this Spring, I heard several people talking about braid vs mono and you'd catch more on mono cause they could see braid. I had a mix of poles out, some with braid and some with mono so I half way kept up with it. I didn't see any difference at all to be honest. That was just one time though and not enough to come up with a clear conclusion on it though.

DD, that is great line if you want to relocate brush piles or tow a boat to the bank..On the positive side you can use it for Cobia fishing on the coast...:rolleyes:
