    Default Mold ?

I purchased a brand new Nitro X5 about 3 months ago and I store it under a barn (covered on 3 sides). I left it outside in the rain for about a day or 2 about a month to month and half ago and now I have mold in the rod box and the port side storage box. I can see it, but when I pulled my rods and net out yesterday they were covered in it. I sprayed Lysol up in there and left all the lids open last night, but Im wondering is there anything else I can do to get this stuff out?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Robert

I have also used clorox before, not sure if I would use it on your boat however. Man, this is a new one on me

Empty compartments and clean anything in there with mold on it. Hit it again with lysol, don't use a bleach based product as you run the risk of bleaching your carpet. In full sun, let it sit for 2 days with compartments open and set up fans to blow into all the compartments - including the bilge. You'll have to roll the boat back under storage at night to avoid dew though. Past that, you can put dessicant packs in the storage and close it up. Lowes and WalMart or Home Depot sell canisters of dessicant type stuff that can be re-used. Need to hurry up and take care of it though. Cold and wet weather makes it tough to get rid of.

I can't begin to describe how bad it pisses me off when Satdoc posts something funny at my expense. If he weren't so dang lovable, I'd whip his hiney.
