Boat question

I took my boat out this afternoon for the first time since it was worked on. It ran well except for an alarm that I could never figure out how to shut off. It sounded like it was coming from my throttle. I flipped the kill switch on and off but it wouldn't shut this alarm off. Any ideas?

I Bet Its A Older Evinrude If So Its Your Running Hot Alarm Mine Did It My Brother In Laws Does It All You Have To Do Is Cut The Hot Wire To The Buzzer Or Buy A New One I Just Cut Mine Just Have Make Suer Its Pumping Water Good Luck On It

Its a '04 Fisher/Grizzly with '04 Mercury 40hp... The alarm is definitely coming from somewhere in the controls/throttle but I couldn't get it to stop by flipping up and down the kill switch. The water pump worked fine all afternoon. The alarm did not start until probably half way through a 1 hour run around the lake. Thx!

I All Most Bet You Its Your Running Hot Alarm Go Back To Your Motor Find The Hot Wire For The Censer Un Plug It See If It Stops Buzzen Not Suer Wear It Is It Should Be Some Wear On The Head Around The Spark Plugs Or Near The Thermostat Is It Oil Injection Or Do You Mix Your Oil To The Gas If It Oil Injection It Could Be That Alarm If It Is That Censer Is In The Canister Wear You Fill Your Oil Up That Is The Only 2 Alarms It Should Be

Check Your Oil Canister And Running Hot Alarms Just Un Plug Them One At A Time? Your Pump For The Oil May Have Stop Working It May Not Be A Good Thing To Run It Till You Make Sher The Pump Working I Would Change It Over To Manuel Mix That Way You Know It Getting The Oil All You Do Disconnect The Oil Pump

Make sure the caps on all the oil tanks are tight. Check to make sure that the on-board oil tank is full of oil. If it isn't fill it up with oil and try running your engine again. If you have a pair of muffs you can put on your lower unit so you can run it just hooked up to a hose makes the job a lot easier. There are usually two wires coming out of the oil tank. If the on-board tank is full and you are getting the beep, try disconnecting the wires. If it is an oil alarm from here it should stop. Mercury engines have been known to send a signal from the sensor inside the tank even if the tank is full. In a lot of instances you can replace just the sensor but in a lot of cases you have to replace the on-board oil tank. A lot of the fuel injected Merc's have a sequence of 4 beeps followed by a 2 minute silence and then another 4 beeps. Before you disconnect any alarm I would highly recommend you know for sure what is causing the problem. It has been a while since I worked on any engines but I will help you in any way I can.
