This was in the Memphis papr today.
once they close it do you really think they'll open it back up???
I doubt it!!!
Rumors have spread rapidly during the past few weeks that Lakeview, a.k.a. Horn Lake, is about to be closed to the public.
That's true.
It will.
But only for a while.
According to officials from the Lakeview Boat Dock, the land adjacent to the popular fishery just off Highway 61 in Walls, Miss., has been purchased by private investors, and the lake will be closed during November, December and January.
It will reopen to the public for fishing in February.
The lake is located less than a half-hour from downtown Memphis and is a popular destination for many Memphis-area anglers.
The fishery has solid populations of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks added 75,000 hybrid striped bass fingerlings earlier this year.
Numerous phone calls placed to the MDWFP were not returned.

TOO MANY IDIOTS TO FEW BULLETS
dang man that sucks i have been fishing there since i was a little kid. i still have a baitcaster reel on the bottom that my dad threw in when he got mad at me trying to teach me how to use it, it was a really bad backlash. oh well just shows that these idiots that have all the money can screw us regular joes.
It just makes you wonder .... that some fat cat land baron greased the palm of some MISSISSIPPI wild life officials to stock the lake with hyrbids right before they closed it to the public.
YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK !
makes you wonder what else he did too :0
I wonder what size the hybrid bass were when they were stocked? I wish there were more places in North Mississippi to target them.
With no boat traffic on the lake, those ducks gonna raft up big time. Just watch. As far as Crappie, I've had some of my best day's there. Just ask Mr. Jim, he has put some numbers in the boat there as well. It just seems that in the last few year's it's been over run. Same went for North Lake.
